It is no secret that Boston is one of the most prominent cities in the United States, making it a hotspot for artists to hold concerts in.
It is also no secret that Boston is a city of students, often making the majority of the concertgoers students. Here’s a list of upcoming concerts you might be interested throughout the semester:
Ariana Grande: Dangerous Woman Tour
Friday, March 3 at the TD Garden at 7:30 p.m.
Being a frequent artist on the Top 40 charts, Ariana Grande is a performer anyone who loves pop music and contemporary R&B would not want to miss.
This is also one of the few big concerts that take place in Boston instead of outside the city. This makes it easier to get to the concert without having to ride the train for an hour or pay for an expensive Uber ride.
Besides being able to enjoy the sultry voice and catchy lyrics of Ariana, the opening acts for the concert are going to be the girl band Little Mix and the R&B singer Victoria Monet.
Panic! At The Disco: Death of a Bachelor Tour
Saturday, March 4 at DCU Center, Worcester at 7:00 p.m.
Having started as a band known for its emo music and style, Panic! At The Disco has evolved throughout the years and developed a unique style of breaking many expected music rules.
Despite the concert occurring outside of Boston, there is a train that goes from Boston to Worcester before the concert, making it easy to get there.
Apart from lead man Brendon Urie’s wide range of vocals and varying song themes, there will be two opening acts: band MisterWives and indie pop group Saint Motel.
The Lumineers: ‘Cleopatra World Tour Continues’
Thursday, March 16 at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, Connecticut at 7:00 p.m.
The up-and-coming band, The Lumineers, rose to celebrity status after their recent album, Cleopatra, and their top hit, “Ophelia”. The band offers a concert for anyone who likes indie folk.
While it is a lot further away than most people are willing to go, this concert is worth going because of their emotive and honest songs.
The opening acts for this concert are going to be the indie rock band Kaleo and the alternative/indie band Susto, which provides a great introduction to the folksy tone of The Lumineers.
Green Day: Revolution Radio Tour
Friday, March 17 at the DCU Center, Worcester at 7:30 p.m.
One of the rock bands that never gets old, Green Day just released Revolution Radio. On this tour, they will sing their new songs and reminisce with their old songs.
What better chance to enjoy a rock concert than sing the songs everyone knows by heart like “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and “Holiday” from Green Day’s iconic American Idiot?
Just like in the Panic! At The Disco concert, there is going to be a train that goes to Worcester from Boston and vice versa at the end of the concert—so missing this concert due to transportation is no excuse.
Getting into the mood of the rock genre, before singing Green Day’s song the punk rock band Against Me! is going to open the concert.
Maluma
Sunday, March 19 at the House of Blues at 6:00 p.m.
The only Latin concert in this list, Maluma is a must when it comes to the Latin genre. Having grown in popularity in recent years and becoming one of the biggest artists in the business, he is being constantly played in Latin parties after releasing his album Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy.
He has even released a new single with Shakira called “Chantaje”, which has become one of the essential songs in any Latin party because of its danceable beat.
Staying closer to campus, this concert will take place within walking distance at the House of Blues, which is located behind Fenway Park.
