After a long night out with friends, it is common to crave a crispy chicken finger or sweet vanilla milkshake as a final hurrah before parting ways and going to bed. It can be hard to narrow down options and choose the ultimate restaurant because there are so many options along Boston University’s long campus.

On the west side of campus, Rhett’s West has every food option one could ever want. From burgers to smoothies to seasoned curly fries, this dining service is perfect for any midnight craving. They are open Sunday to Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and Thursday to Saturday from 8 p.m. to 3a.m., making for an easy option to get any sort of late night bite.

Rhett’s has a wide variety of food to choose from, including vegetarian options and it is also often an entertaining environment.

“It’s fun to go with friends and I love the people who work there,” said Shaina Schnog (COM ’22). “Everyone is always in happy spirits and it’s just a fun place to be on the weekends.”

Rhett’s is the perfect on-campus dining service to go to for a late-night snack and to meet new people.

On the opposite side of campus, Bay State Underground is another great place to go for any late-night adventure. They are open Sunday to Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Thursday to Saturday from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. They also feature more gourmet items than the typical dining halls, such as gnocchi, flatbreads and sesame seared tuna.

“I think the food is amazing,” said Isabel Rice (COM ’22). “It acts like a real restaurant.”

Bay State Underground is very different from the usual on-campus dining services locations as it is complete with servers and sit-down tables, just like an actual diner. However, rather than requiring students to spend cash on an expensive dinner, they also offer the option of paying with dining points or convenience points. This allows for students with a meal plan to have a fantastic dinner without spending any additional money out of pocket.

Many people go here to study and get work completed, or bring friends to enjoy a fun night with tasty food. No matter what the occasion, Bay State Underground is the perfect place to go for a nice meal and a cheerful environment.

There are many amazing restaurants to go to for an amazing late night snack that are off-campus as well. T. Anthony’s, located just across the street from the West Campus trio of dorms, is often one of the first places on the list of everyone’s go-to off-campus diner.

Every weekend night, this restaurant is filled with people. Whether it is the hockey team celebrating their latest win, Boston tourists eagerly waiting to try to a slice of the popular pizza or BU students gathering together to bond over the delicious food, this restaurant is always buzzing with excitement.

Its location, as well as its food, make it a prime spot for hungry students. They have a large menu full of Italian dishes like ravioli, wraps and, of course, pizza. They have countless flavor combinations and toppings to choose from, but one of the most popular pizzas is their mozzarella stick pizza. Yes, a mozzarella stick pizza.

T. Anthony’s is also known for its enjoyable atmosphere.

“We know BU and they know us, and they feel comfortable here,” said manager Joseph Rastellini. “We let them be themselves.”

During a night out with friends, Rhett’s, Bay State Underground and T. Anthony’s are great options for the perfect late night snack. They offer delicious food that can help to satisfy any craving one might have at a cheap, reasonable price and are placed on either end of BU’s campus. These spots ensure that no matter where someone is, they can get a quick, delicious meal. All of these restaurants help to make BU’s campus lively and enjoyable for all.
