The weather may be uncertain, but getting back in the groove of school isn’t! With a short onslaught of snow, followed by hurricane-like winds and rain, the spring semester is in full swing at Boston University. Here are some things you won’t want to miss this semester.

  1. The reconstruction of the buildings in Kenmore Square is bringing an end to the beloved current location of the Barnes and Noble bookstore, which will open on the other end of campus. Currently, there is a store-wide sale happening, and the deals are almost too good to believe! From apparel to books, small trinkets to everyday supplies, it’s three floors of surprises! Make sure you drop by and check out the deals before it’s too late!

  2. The next time you’re having a late-night craving for soup, head over to Bay State Underground for the new O-Mori Ramen! With three options—mushroom miso, curry chicken katsu and chasu pulled pork—your cravings are sure to be satisfied with a steaming warm bowl of broth with delicious noodles!

  3. The hockey season is still going strong, and you won’t want to miss the Beanpot this year as we take on Northeastern at the first game, at 8:00pm on Monday, February 4th at TD Garden! Go Terriers! Don’t forget to attend the final game the following week, time TBD.

  4. As the sun gets warmer in April, the heat is coming to Comm. Ave with the first spring concert on campus! Student Government President Devin Harvin announced that the 802.1 artists and ticket sales will be shared soon, so be on the lookout and always check your email!

  5. TedxBU- Sophomore Thomas Rigal (QST ’21), recently announced that BU will be hosting its first Tedx talk on April 27th! With speakers to be announced, the event will bring back alumni to inspire our student body, the next generation of world leaders. For more information, bookmark tedxbostonuniversity.com and check regularly for updates!

  6. If you’re thinking about having an internship for the summer, it’s time to visit a career fair! Whether it’s college specific or university wide, be sure to stay up to date with the Center for Career Development’s webpage for the latest updates as events roll out.

  7. In an effort to stand with gender awareness and inclusivity, two gender-neutral bathrooms have been installed on the second floor of the George Sherman Union! The construction lasted the duration of last semester, but it has since been completed.

  8. There’s no question as to whether BU students run on coffee, so be sure to fuel up at the newly renovated Dunkin Donuts at Buick Market underneath Stuvi1!

  9. Renovations now… new space later! Construction at the previous 808 Gallery has begun to transform into the new Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground. Be on the lookout for updates on the new space and events to come!

  10. You can win a free jersey after attendance at 6 home games! Make sure you download the GO BU app and check in at all men’s ice hockey games to earn points towards your free jersey! Instead of spending more than $100, you could be getting your jersey absolutely free of charge!

In addition, don’t miss the new MBTA green line trains that are slowly rolling out! With more room and a fresh sleek design, have your Charlie Card ready to hop on one if you see it coming by!
