For someone who’s tired of eating at the same spots after every game
By Anika Mahansaria
Ring the bells: it’s officially hockey season, basketball season AND football season. There’s so much to watch and it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of games without remembering to eat or drink anything. As an avid sports fan—and someone who’s at 80% of these games—I have officially found the perfect post-game food options.
Spot 1: Hub Hall
It’s kind of basic but still a reliable spot. Attached to TD Garden, it’s super easy and convenient to grab a bite for your trek home. Because of the proximity to TD Garden, you are surrounded by the eclectic atmosphere of the games long after the game ends. I also love Hub Hall because there are so many food options to choose from.
Spot 2: Ducali
This one is better for a daytime game since it closes earlier, but you might have to miss the last bit of the game to eat here. Having trouble figuring out what to order? My go-to dish is their pizza. The location really is ideal because it borders the North End—the perfect place for a stroll after eating.
Spot 3: Halftime Pizza
Halftime Pizza is a casual Italian restaurant, another spot close to TD Garden and open for 90 minutes after a game usually lets out. The pizzas are a little greasy, but honestly after a game, that can be pretty satisfying.
Don’t worry, BU fans, I haven’t forgotten you! After a game lets out at Agganis, I know everyone flocks to Canes. Trust me, you have other options.
Spot 1: Be Pasta Bar
Be Pasta Bar’s selling factor is their generous portion sizes that still maintain amazing quality. I love to create my pasta dishes, and it's a great place to bring friends to customize your ideal Italian-inspired meal. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but it's perfect to decompress after a game with a cozy environment. It’s open till 11 pm on weekends, which makes it a good choice for after hockey games.
Spot 2: OTTO
Near the Amory Street T stop, OTTO serves up delicious late-night food, and it’s far enough from Agganis that you can find a seat easily without walking too much. When it was much warmer earlier in the semester, I would enjoy sitting in their outdoor seating and people-watch. They have a lot more seating inside, which makes it a really good option for larger friend groups. It’s also close to West Campus, so you can head back to your dorm really fast after your late night bite.
So the next time you leave TD Garden or Agganis Arena hungry, ditch your go-to place and try one of these spots instead! Whether you’re craving pizza, a bowl of pasta or just a place to unwind after a game, you will find somewhere here that will hit the spot.
