Carrying a water bottle around might seem silly, but it’s the easiest way to stay hydrated

Sometimes, it seems like the solution to every ailment, minor or major, is simply to drink more water. Skin looking rough? Drink more water. Getting sick easily? Drink more water. Having digestive issues? Yep, you guessed it — drink more water! Although a bit hyperbolic, it’s true: water really is the solution to so many problems we face. It plays a key role in so many essential bodily functions, from temperature regulation to nutrient transport and more.
We all know how beneficial water is for our health. It’s simply drinking enough water that so many of us struggle with. The solution? A fun water bottle.
While that may sound oversimplistic, a reusable water bottle is an easy way to make sure you stay hydrated. Carrying it around serves as a constant visual reminder to drink water. When it’s clunking around in your bag and feeling extra heavy, that’s yet another helpful nudge to take a sip.
Plus, using one standardized container helps you keep track of just how much water you consume. If you know how many ounces your water bottle holds and how many times you’ve refilled it during the day, some simple math will tell you how much water you took in.
My personal favorite water bottle—my emotional support water bottle, if you will—is one of my limited edition LoveShackFancy Stanley cups. In a cute floral print that matches my personal style, my water bottle is like a cute yet functional accessory to tote around. Although it is pretty hefty, it never feels cumbersome. I rarely leave the house without it.
That said, I would probably still drink plenty of water even without my bottle. Frankly, I’ve always been a huge water drinker, but I know many others who benefit greatly from the reminders a reusable water bottle provides.
One of these people is my grandma, Selma. At 89 years old, she still lives alone and takes amazing care of herself. The one thing she struggled with for a while, though? Staying hydrated. As soon as my mom and I gifted her her own LoveShackFancy water bottle — albeit in the 20 oz. size for the sake of her hand strength — she started drinking water all the time. She carries it everywhere and always makes sure to refill it when needed.
So, if you’re trying to stay on top of your hydration needs, I recommend a reusable water bottle. You don’t have to get the fanciest or most expensive bottle — just one that suits your style and will last.
