How were your Super Bowl Sunday nachos? Or did you have wings? Sometimes the food served on Super Bowl Sunday is better than the touchdown (however, nothing is better than Rihanna). Curious on how to step-up your own superbowl experience for next year? Regardless, I got you covered.

36% of Americans consume some type of Chicken wings on Superbowl Sunday, and I am no exception! My personal favorite is wings of any kind. This past Sunday, I chose a close-to-home BU favorite, “Fiya Chicken,” located on Commonwealth Avenue. Fiya Chicken is delicious Korean fried chicken, and is the perfect grub for your Superbowl Sunday. The Korean fried chicken tenders are brushed with the Spicy Korean glaze consisting of gochujang, garlic, and soy sauce. These wings are very tasty as they are never greasy and have a better crunch than the average American fried chicken because it is fried TWICE (yes, you read that correctly). The Soy Garlic glaze with the tenders is also perfect if you are not a spice lover.

Fiya Chicken also offers four different kinds of fries including nori, truffle, and hot (I always opt for the truffle parmesan.). An usual appetizer is their Korean Corn dog. This dish is fried in pancake batter and can be made with fresh mozzarella and of course an all beef hot dog!

Another chicken special is a Buffalo Chicken dip. If you are not committed to the whole fried chicken, you can opt for this famous appetizer paired with carrots, celery, and crackers. This shareable party dip will take your guest’s breath away. The main ingredients of this appetizer are shredded chicken, cream cheese, buffalo sauce (mild or spicy), with some ranch dressing drizzled on top.

Another dip that I love - and one of the most popular appetizers on sporty days - is spinach artichoke dip. This dip can be bought from your local supermarket or homemade. The ingredients are what they sound like: cream cheese, sour cream, artichoke hearts, and of course the spinach. Your guests will be wanting your recipe, and I mean, what is to not love about this dish?

For a final staple of your exciting day, nachos are one of the most simple and delicious snacks. These are a great snack for vegetarians or anyone avoiding meat, which is important to keep in mind if that is one of your guests. Putting tortilla chips with grated cheese in the oven for two or three minutes will do the trick. Once they are out of the oven, put any toppings you like such as guacamole, olives, sour cream, and salsa.

For a delicious dessert, try matching the sports theme with some football-shaped brownies. All you need is a boxed brownie mix, some oval shaped cookie cutters, and white icing for the decorations. Your guests are destined to leave feeling impressed, and in the best post-superbowl food coma.
