Going to Trader Joe’s is always exciting. But nothing beats Trader Joe’s in early October. The entire store is decorated with pumpkins, fake leaves, and posters celebrating their pumpkin-themed items, such as their pumpkin ravioli. Yes, Trader Joe’s has pumpkin ravioli.
The inside of the ravioli is a sweet pumpkin slathered with honey and a bit of brown sugar and molasses and blended with ricotta and mozzarella cheese. Trader Joe’s lists their Autumnal Harvest Pasta Sauce with this ravioli as an ideal pairing. If a sweet dish incorporating both pumpkin, pasta, and cheese is your thing… then this dish might just be for you!
A unique aspect that draws many college students to Trader Joe’s is its wide variety of precooked products. If you are a fan of their overnight oats, you must try the Pumpkin Oats! This spinoff of the classic almond milk oats is one that I will certainly repurchase. This product is made with a mix of pumpkin purée, pumpkin spice, almond butter, and, of course, hearty rolled oats. There is no sugar, only date paste that sweetens the oats and is entirely dairy-free and gluten-free. If you need more nutrients, I recommend adding a TJ yogurt and a few slices of an apple for that extra fall kick. If you are a fan of pumpkin pie, this almost mimics the flavor (but with a little more fiber).
Lastly, a product that I love is their Pumpkin Spiced Joe-Joe’s Sandwich cookies. If you are a real Trader Joe’s supporter, then you know their historical Joe-Joe cookie. It tastes like an Oreo but with more flavor. Trader Joe’s calls this product “Pumpkin Spice on Pumpkin Spice,” and for good reason. Trader Joe’s took their famous Pumpkin Joe-Joe, dipped the cookie into a sweet Pumpkin Spiced yogurt coating, and topped it with sea salt. Now that’s what I call a treat!
So, run to your local Trader Joe’s to start the fall season with the best pumpkin-themed items… they won’t last all year!
