THE FUTURE OF SPRING BREAK

Spring break: a tradition partaken in by almost every college student in the United States. Some consider it the highlight of their college experience. It’s a time to relax, enjoy and take a moment away from academics. Many use this as an opportunity to travel to beachy destinations and exotic islands. However, due to Covid-19, this tradition has been taken away in 2021. To help start planning, here is a list of five fantastic spring break destinations for the post-pandemic future!

Cancun, Quintana Roo

This is one of the most travelled-to destinations for spring break. Cancun provides great deals on all-inclusive resorts, making it an accessible place for students to travel to when on a budget. It offers beautiful white sand beaches, magnificent coral reefs and a rocking nightlife scene. Cancun is also extremely easy to travel to, as most major cities in the U.S. have a direct flight straight there. Make sure to lock in a spectacular deal for next year!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Another beautiful Mexican island closer to the West Coast. Cabo is known for its stunning turquoise waters and golden sand, along with sunsets to die for. It’s a place where students can relax by the water all day, bringing a more relaxed and zen vibe than Cancun’s party culture. However, that doesn’t mean its nightlife is absent. Nightclubs in Cabo are a major attraction. Similar to Cancun, there are many all-inclusive resorts that provide affordable vacation options.

Miami, Florida

Miami is for those who want to flee the East Coast’s cold weather quickly. It’s located in Florida and doesn’t require international travel. It is convenient for many students, as flights are cheaper and other options (like driving) are available. From high-end shops to Michelin star restaurants and peaceful beaches, what more could you want?

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana is a beautiful coastal city on the Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic. It is definitely on the more reasonable side in terms of pricing, like Cancun. All-inclusive deals cover food and drinks, as well as water sports like parasailing, jet skiing and scuba diving––just to list a few. This combination makes for the perfect spring break getaway, and a direct flight from most major U.S. cities also makes it accessible.

South Padre Island, Texas

South Padre Island is a Texas resort area for those who are looking for a bustling and nearly nocturnal party destination. This extremely budget-friendly destination makes for an ideal spring break spot. For those who like to party, the nightlife is to die for. That being said, the town and its beaches tend to get very crowded. South Padre Island is definitely for those seeking to party on the daily.

While spring break isn’t available for Terriers this year, it never hurts to start planning for next spring, especially when everyone is glued to the internet anyway. Put on the sound of beach waves, grab a cold beverage and take a virtual tropical vacay while booking for next spring!
