By now you’ve probably seen all the rave on TikTok and Instagram regarding the all new capsule closet wardrobe trend. And if you haven’t - fear not! Here’s a quick round up of what this trend is all about, and some basic starters for the perfect execution.

The capsule closet wardrobe mainly follows minimalistic logic. The main idea is to create a variety of different outfits from less items overall, but with more versatility.

The starter to almost all capsule closet wardrobes is a white tank top. What may seem like just an ordinary white tank can be turned into so much more, and used more frequently than one might expect. It’s perfect to wear under an athletic jacket to run errands, under a blazer for the office, or with sweatpants for a chill night in.

Next, a neutral colored blazer and slacks. With the rise of business casual, it’s no wonder that these pieces are included in the capsule closet wardrobe trend. Any neutral color blazer and slacks from navy to tan can work perfectly for the office, class, or dinner with friends and family.

Of course, you’ll also need a pair of classic, adaptable pants or jeans to add to your capsule wardrobe. These are perfect for pretty much any occasion; running errands, Sunday brunch, weekend outings - you name it!

Now in addition to these starter clothing items, some good athleisure wear, such as leggings and athletic jackets are perfect to add into the mix. Also, customize your closet with a variety of neutral blouses and jackets, as well as a couple statement pieces that speak to your personal style. Last, but not least, be sure to include your favorite pairs of sweatpants for the cozier nights in.

These are just a few ideas for what a capsule closet wardrobe could look like, but the possibilities are truly endless. Mix and match as you see fit, and hopefully save yourself some money with these versatile items!
